14th Birthday Card March 2010

Dearest H,

How time flies. 14 years old. I cannot quite believe it. it feels like yesterday i gazed in wonder at the most beautiful, precious thing I had ever known. When i held you for the first time and was consumed by love and joy and a whole river of tears.

Enough tears have since made a sea of sorrow and regret, but nothing can take away those memories I have of our time together. I even remember your smell. That unique smell that would allow me to know you even if i were blind will never be lost even if so many years have been.

I hope you have a lovely birthday and do something nice to celebrate I will not be spoiling it with presents that will be found wanting or at best 'inappropriate' I will not send money as I do not know you will get it and it seems so meaningless, so without thought that it would do me know favours with your heart. I cannot buy your love and money certainly does not buy happiness. So please make do with my love and promise that I do my best to make up for your loss of innocence given the chance.

I hope you are well, happy and still that thoughtful, sensitive and beautiful girl I remember so well. Keep working hard for what you want I believe in you. love you always Little Nut Brown Hare. xxx
